Arc8 Season 6: Tweaks and Updates

Last week we posted about the new game, partnerships and game coming in Season 6. Take a look if you haven’t already. Here we will talk about the changes to tournaments, battle tiers, UI, the referral system and qualification.

As always, we will trial these updates and, with the exception of the ranking system, we may make further changes where necessary.

Arc8 Season 6

Group Matches

A new type of battle mode arrives in Arc8! These are small tournaments for a limited number of players, meaning that even a moderately good score can get you a prize. The tournament closes as soon as it has filled — and if it doesn’t fill, it expires. We’re just testing this one for now — let’s see how it goes!

Game-Centric UI

When the main season launches on December 8th, the main screen will be dedicated to one game instead of the dashboard. This makes it much easier to select your favorite game by swiping left or right, meaning all those new players you invite with the revamped referral system will find the whole app much easier to navigate.

Updated Referral System

Previously, when a friend you invited reached Silver level in a game, you would both get 2 GMEE, and then 8 GMEE when they got to Gold level. Now, for both Silver and Gold, you will each get 10 GMEE. So if you’re a fan of Arc8, make sure to send your friends your unique code.

Training Mode

Want to try out a new game but not sure you’re skilled enough to beat other players? The new qualification makes it a lot easier — all the matches in training are against bots, meaning risk-free battles! As soon as you’ve won the required number of battles, you will get your reward and can play competitively (or continue practicing!) Completing qualification will now pay out 1 GMEE, giving the incentive for players to check out even more games in Arc8.

Battle Tiers

If you’ve been trying to go up a tier in a game but can’t quite make it, then this is good news! Take a look at the updated tier system for head-to-head battles, where we have boosted Tiers 1 and 3:

• Tier 1
  Entry fee: 1 GMEE
  Win reward: 1.6 GMEE
  Rank needed: Bronze
• Tier 2:
  Entry fee: 5 GMEE
  Win reward: 9 GMEE
  Rank needed: Silver
• Tier 3
  Entry fee: 100 GMEE
  Win reward: 180 GMEE
  Rank needed: Gold

Ranking System

We have updated the ranking system to allow players to progress more quickly and to stop them dropping down the ranks. This means that there will be more players at a higher rank, making the tournaments fairer. Also, now you will only drop down in rank according to your LPs, but not at the beginning of the season. LPs will be reset to fit this new system, but your rank in games from Season 5 will stay the same.

Big Tournaments

Now we have all-new group matches, we wanted to have fewer short tournaments and make the big tournaments more rare and exciting. So, every day, there will be a 24-hour tournament for each rank. And as for which games the tournaments will be in, it will vary. Each day, there will be a tournament in 4 different games, which we will rotate. Now is a great time to practice in those games where you’re not as strong!
